Bad News -Your Fans are no longer going to your FB Biz Page

Hi All,

share

share

Bad News: Not many people are visiting your Facebook Fan Page. Is this a Problem?  Did you know that once a person establishes a LIKE for your page, they may NEVER return.  This may seem like really bad news but it does have a positive side…

The Good News:  If you are posting on your Fanpage and ENGAGING with your “fans” they are getting your updates.

Where and How:  Your “fans” are now seeing your posts on  the Ticker on their wall. Think of the Ticker, like a tweet on Twitter, there are many of them coming into view all the time.  Your post will scroll by quickly.  If your “fan” see a post from you and wants to comment, all they have to do is hover the mouse over to the post and a comment section for that post will enlarge. Your “fan” can like it and comment.  “Fans” are not leaving their wall.  The information is coming to them.

Bad News:  No comments, no likes, the post will drop off quickly off the ticker.

Good News:  Post more frequently.  Comment back, continue the dialogue.  Of course, it will be good information that your fans will want to comment on and share.

Till next time, see you on Facebook.

Talk to later,

D

How not to Overload your Twitter Feed – a cool app

Hi All,

The time in the day  to work is short for the small business travel professional, how dow we keep up with all the social media networks? In addition, sometimes we don’t pay attention to our Twitter feed, when do begin reading we tweet like crazy trying to catch up with everyone. or we start reading the tweets during the night, but as we know, it is not the best time to start tweeting, when everyone is safely tucked in their beds.

I am testing out a new application today that helps you send out your tweets when you want them to go out.  You can organize the tweet times so they go at specific times of the day or night. The product is called Buffer and here is the link http://bufferapp.com . The app even shows you how many people the tweet reached.

The one downside I see so far is now I need to head over to hootsuite to see who is responding.

Well will let you know more as I discover.

Till next time,

D

Working on Blog -website cont’d

HI Everyone,

Rainy Sunday in South Florida, so I thought I would take some time to work on my website-blog combo.  It is so interesting with so many choices and directions I can take.  WordPress offers so many cool themes. It is hard to make a decision.  So over the next few weeks, if you stop by things may look different from time to time but it is a work in progress.

After I finish with the themes, I will be moving on to plugins and widgets.  The fun is just beginning. :)

Talk to you later.  Oh and if anyone has any advice, please share…

Business Cards -add your social media contacts

Hi Everyone,

Awhile back, I added my social media contacts to my business card.  I thought it would be a great way for potential clients to see what I am up to without first making a phone call.  On my card, is my Facebook address, my blog address, website and twitter account.  Not everything is on the front of the card.  It just would not fit!

Well today I was going through some articles and it proposed doing  just that, I should have mentioned it earlier.  But here it is, it reminded my of the commericial “I should of had a V8″.  I liked a couple of things the article said, but what stood out was ( I am sorry I lost the link), use the FB image or whatever social media application you are using.  Visuals make great eye catching details to your business card.

YAPTA -for tracking Air Fares and refunds too

There is a new tool in town.  Thanks to Lyell better known as 93Octane, one of my FB buddies, he shared a fare tracking tool that will do multiple flight and hotel tracking.  The application is called YAPTA and it is powered by Kayak.  Go to  YAPTA to get started.

I just spent some time with the program and this is what I found out:

  • Multiple trip tracking tool -including price drops
  • If price drops of a trip you are tracking, Yata will send you an email to alert you
  • If you already purchased your ticket or hotel room, Yapta has a connection that can help you  work on getting a refund
  • You can see fare charts of the the best days of the month to travel

I already have trips plugged into the application and I am interested to see how it all comes together.

Thanks Lyell.  You can follow all his wisdom on Twitter, 93Octane.

Concrete Information to Put into Action, Now!

For more than a year, everyone has been talking about Social Media Networking and why it should be used.  I think by now, we all realize that it will play some part in our businesses.  But like everything else today, we are bombarded with so many articles we do not have time to read.  And often, the articles are not showing us how to put the information into practice.  I am not only talking about Social Media here, but the tools we need to get our work completed efficiently.  Social Media is only one part of the whole picture.

“Click of the Mouse” is going to put more emphasis on how to accomplish what you need to know NOW, and hopefully you will get the “concrete tips to put into action” immediately.  I will cover not only the social media networking but also the technology, from how to take a better picture, to the newest hardware tools, you should consider.   My goal is to give you the tip in the least amount of words possible, with a brief description, this way you can skim over the tip and see if it has any value for your business.

I will  scour the internet, books and videos to  give you the best information and the  resources used to obtain the information and it will be on the Click of the Mouse Blog. You will then have the sources to read the articles, in the event you need more in-depth information.

If you are on Facebook, I will be posting a shortened version on the “Click of the Mouse” Fan Page. then just click the link to go to the Click of the Mouse Blog”, if the tip is of interest to you.

Time to get down to business!

Thank you,

Denise
